A Minor Setback
Note to self: don't brag about productivity on blog.
All it took was one weekend out of town, celebrating the marvelous and joyous occasion of the marriage of my niece, to snuff the life out of my writing streak. I returned to the place that inspires, calms, and invigorates me more than any other place, Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior, but this was a weekend for family.
Maria's wedding was beautiful and I was honored to be a part of that as a reader during the ceremony. All of my six siblings attended and most of my children's cousins. Between travel time, restaurants, rehearsal, and the wedding itself, I didn't have much time for other pursuits. The kiss of death was the fact that my two darling, squirrelly children will only sleep in a hotel room if EVERYONE is sleeping. And since I do much of my writing after they go to bed.... I've got some catching up to do.
I wish that I'd had more time to walk along the Lakewalk or write from a bench on the rocky shore, but I've locked away the brief moments I did have and I will pull them out when I need them.
