Gratitude Tuesday Top Ten

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Today on the blog: a new feature.  Gratitude Tuesdays.  Gratituesdays, if you will.  Some posts will focus on one thing for which I am grateful.  Some posts will list the top ten things for the week.  I did a similar exercise last November when I posted the list each morning on facebook.

So here goes, my first Gratitude Tuesday Top Ten:

I'm grateful for:

1.  My husband Hammer Guy's sense of humor.  He cracks me up even when I'm in the WORST mood.

2. The fact that, other than the poor animals at the zoo, there were no serious injuries or deaths reported due to last week's horrible flooding in Duluth and St. Louis County.

3.  Circle of Writers - I'm grateful for the writing community, for SCBWI, for the Loft Literary Center, for YALITCHAT, for YA Highway, for MNYA Writers, for independent booksellers who support local authors.

4.  Hugs and snuggles from my kids.

5.  The Summer Olympics, just around the corner.  And this year - in London, one of my favorite cities!

6.  Goodreads.

7.  My mom, who raised 7 kids and not a rotten one in the bunch, and is still making sure we're okay.

8.  My dad, who has been gone for almost six years.  He instilled in me a sense of responsibility and a strong work ethic.  I miss him every day.

9.  The library.

10.  Coffee.

How about you?  What are you grateful for today?

  1. I second the gratitude for everything my father taught me, and what a lovely sentiment to have this post. I am grateful for my helpful coworkers today, and for the endless tea they bring me ;)

    Following you here btw.

  2. I'm grateful for a lot of things, but the first thing that popped into my head is this: My critique partner Elodie has been absolutely fantastic to work with, and I feel like I'm a better writer already! I'm grateful that I feel way more motivated to write now that I know somebody is reading and enjoying(!) my story. :D

  4. I agree with points on your list. This week I'm grateful for my writing students--they are smart, creative and thoughtful, and we are having a great time during this writing retreat in Greece!

    1. A writing retreat in Greece sounds WONDERFUL. I'm afraid I would be much too distracted by the sights and the food, however. I hope you'll post lots of pictures on your blog. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Kids who still take naps! That would be bliss. Haven't had a nap in this house since September 25, 2009. Funny that I know the exact date. :)

  8. I am so excited for the Olympics! I miss London so much and I can't wait to see it again, even its on my TV.

Today I'm thankful for a really good cup of coffee and time to write with a good friend.

    1. I KNOW. I cannot wait for the Olympics. My son asked me if every night could be an Olympic movie night. My children will be sleep deprived! And I can't wait to teach them about London. I'm putting together a mini-curriculum - books, activities, tea. Wow. I'm a dorky mom.

It sounds from your blog that you are having a very productive writing summer - good for you!
