Get Ready for This: Two-Year Blogoversary Party

April 13th is Crow River Writer's two-year Blogoversary!

Although I'd blogged for years -- mainly mama stuff -- two years ago I decided it was time to get serious about building my network as a writer. Blogging has brought me a lot of joy and I'm so thrilled that you have shared the joy with me.

To celebrate the last two years and to share my excitement for the amazing things that are sure to happen this year, yadda yadda yadda, I've put together a SWEET 90s prize package!

Why the 90s, you ask? I believe the better questions is why not? What's not to love about the 90s, know what I mean?

SWEET 90s PRIZE PACKAGE:
  • THE TIME BETWEEN US by Tamara Ireland Stone
From Goodreads:
Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett has the unique ability to travel through time and space, which brings him into Anna’s life, and with him a new world of adventure and possibility.

As their relationship deepens, the two face the reality that time may knock Bennett back to where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate, what consequences they can bear in order to stay together, and whether their love can stand the test of time.
  • The Counting Crows, Recovering the Satellites on CD

  • A fabulous scrunchie/scünci!
  • A movie-theater-sized box of Junior Mints. "Who's gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It's chocolate, it's peppermint -- it's delicious!"

Thanks for your support and encouragement these last two years.

And tell me, what did you love most about the 90s?

  1. I'd have an easier time answering: what DIDN'T I love about the 90s?

    And I'm drawing a blank - I loved everything :)

  2. My fave thing about the 90s was that one of my sons was born then! Congrats on the longevity of your blog!

  3. Favourite 90s movie? So tough! I will always love You've Got Mail. They just don't make rom-coms like they used to. And that whole Meg Ryan + Tom Hanks combo is just magical. Love them. :)

Congrats on the two years blogging, Sara! (And such a generous giveaway too!)

  4. My favorite thing about the movies was Pokemon, oh and Dear America books and Animorphs XD and Heathers (which debuted in 89 but hello let's just count it as 1990). :P I was a 90s child...everything about the 90s for me was fun.

I also may be the only person to deny Junior Mints. I hate anything mint flavored!!! :p

Congrats on 2 years of blogging Sara!

  5. Congrats on your 2 year blog-o-versary!

You remind me of the line in Jimmy Buffet's "Fruit Cakes" (also from the 90s):
I WANT JUNIOR MINTS! Where did Junior Mints go in the movies? I want a 12 lb. Nestle crunch for $25!

But my favorite part of the 90s was my senior year of high school. Good times.

  6. The 90's was so great; end of high school, off to UMD, the memories there and so much more. Working, starting a career. So much happened then. There also was some fantastic music created in the 90's.

  7. Happy blogiversary! Oh the early 90s hair bands! Loved them!

  8. Happy Two Years!

I was a teenager in the nineties and my favorite thing about that time was being able to have tons of fun and almost no responsibility. Aaah... Those were the days!

    Thanks for the giveaway. :-)

  9. Happy Blogaversary!

My favorite thing about the 90s has got to be the music. Hearing certain songs brings back so many memories of my adolescence/teenage-hood!

As for my favorite 90s movie, I have to echo Jaime and say You've Got Mail. Also, Clueless!

  10. Happy Blogoversary! I love all things 90s. The best of times, the worst of time. :)

  11. Happy 2 Years, Sara!!!!!!

The 90's...Yeah, one of my favorite decades - probably because I graduated in the early part of it! So many great memories from high school.

And I can't believe you're giving away a hair scünci! That. Is. Awesome. :)

Congrats on 2 wonderful years - and here's to many more!

  12. Oops! Favorite movie from the 90's? Yikes, there are so many!

Let's see, I've got five: The Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, Titanic, Pretty Woman, and of course, "rollin' with my homies!" Clueless!

  13. Um, if I answer this the way I would have circa 1998, then Titanic, without question. I saw that movie five times in the movie theater, which means that I convinced my mother/my friends' parents to pay for me to see that sucker five times. WHAT. When it came out on VHS (two tapes!), my bestie gave it to me for my birthday and we watched it exactly once...upon which we realized we could say *all* the dialogue along with the movie and never watched it again. (Also, my mother made us fast forward through Kate Winslet's topless scene, which didn't make a ton of sense to me since I had already seen it FIVE TIMES.)

Sorry. You ask me about the '90s, you get my FEELINGS about the '90s. It's a dangerous game. But congrats to you on two years here! I'm so glad we connected through the SipSwap--I love reading your posts and hearing about your process.
