Awards Season

Many thanks to Becky at Once Upon a Time for bestowing two fine awards upon the Crow River Writer Blog.  It's very kind of you to think of me!

The first is the Sunshine Award, perfect for the Week that Winter Finally Arrived in Minnesota.  Here's how it works:
  • Thank the person who gave you the award and provide a link.
  • Write a post about it
  • Answer the questions below.
  • Pass it on to 10 bloggers who you think really deserve it and let them know
The questions:

1. Favorite color – Caribou Green.  Even though it's a blue/green/teal, I say Green to differentiate the former logo and color palette from the new, which is bluer:

My home office is painted Caribou Green.

2. Favorite animal – Cats.  We always had cats growing up, and I had one after college, but Hammer Guy is allergic to cats.

3. Favorite number –  17.  It was my jersey number when I managed the hockey team in high school.

4. Favorite non-alcoholic drink – Coffee.  Should come as no surprise.

5. Facebook or Twitter – Depends.

6. My passion –Writing and reading.  Entertaining.  Cooking.

7. Getting or giving presents? – I love finding the perfect gift for someone.  Giving has become especially fun since having kids.

8. Favorite pattern – The stripes on Charlie Brown's t-shirt.

9. Favorite day of the week – New Release Tuesday.

10. Favorite flower – Tulips.

On to the Kreativ Blogger Award.
  • Thank the blogger who gave you the award and provide a link.
  • List 7 things about yourself that your readers might find interesting
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers, provide links, and let them know!

 Seven interesting things:

1. Until I was 19, I had never been on an airplane.

2. I've been to 19 states and 7 countries outside of the U.S. (Those numbers should be much higher!)

3. I LOVE shoes.  When I went to college, I brought 60 pairs of shoes with me.  My family called me Imelda.  And THEN: I worked retail for 12 years, I broke both feet (the left once twice), and had two babies.  All of those things together have ruined my feet.  They are now misshapen and very wide and it's hard to find adorable shoes.  Heels?  Forget it.  I've become a big fan of Keens, which are roomy and wide and comfortable.

Trinity Chapel, open 24/7
4. I became an aunt for the first time at the age of three.

5. I'm a pantser.  Also an ENFP and an Aries.

6. If I could go back to school (again) I would get a Beatles Master's Degree from Liverpool Hope University.  That or a degree in Library Science.

7. I grew up Catholic, within walking distance of a beautiful old church.  I love to visit and photograph churches and cathedrals.

Thanks again to Becky for the honor/honour.  Rather than passing the Awards along to someone who has probably already received them, I'd like to include all my readers.  Please pick one of the questions and leave a comment with your answer or something else interesting about you!

  5. I grew up in a Century village. It was really cool to attend a historical church and view how antiquated everything was. I just loved it.

  6. I loved you interesting facts! 60 pairs of shoes! WOW I'm a massive fan of shoes, but I broke most of my toes playing hockey as a teenager so find it awkward to wear heels (though I still try my best to grin and bear it)

ps I've tagged you in the Lucky 7 Meme... check it out at http://kaysbook.blogspot.com/2012/03/lucky-7-meme.html
