RTW: All Who Wander

From YA Highway:
Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This Week's Topic: If you could wander anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?

This is a tough question.  I used to travel quite a bit but not as much in the last few years.  Some of my favorite places are Cape Cod, Door County, and the UK, and I'd go back to those places in a heartbeat.  I'd love to go back to Europe and wander around Belgium and Germany, home to my ancestors.

But right now, at this moment, I'd go back to my beloved North Shore -- Duluth, Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock, Two Harbors, Grand Marais.  My home away from home.  My center.  My happy place.  I would wander and wonder and find inspiration.  I can always count on Lake Superior for that.

  1. As many places as I would want to visit, it's home and family that draws me, too. I never lived in Ireland, but I have so many relatives there, it's virtually a second home.

  5. Your picture reminds me of the lake where I spent every summer growing up. You're lucky to have traveled a lot. I would love to travel, explore old castles and other historic places, as well as visit family I correspond with overseas but have never met face-to-face. :)
