A favorite childhood read would be anything by R.L. Stine.
ReplyDeleteAny of the Little House on the Prairie books were my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI was first drawn to Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret as a child. Then followed up with other Judy Blume books. Then ran into Tolkien and Lewis and got fantasy high :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I forgot to leave links...

Not sure if my last attempt at a comment disappeared when I was clicking back and forth out of windows, so I'll answer the question about my favorite childhood novel again. It was The Darkangel by Meredith Pierce. I read it when I was 13 and absolutely fell in love with the story. I saw on the cover that it was book 1 of a trilogy, but nowhere did it say what the titles of any sequels were. And, of course, this was way before internet. Anyway, so about 10 years later, I pick up a random book in the library, drawn by its unusual title--Pearl of the Soul of the World--and read the blurb. It mentions Aeriel (the MC of Darkangel) and a rhyme (that I was sure had to do with the rhyme in Darkangel). Sure enough, it turned out to be Book 3 in the series! I was so excited, and read the book immediately, and put in a request for Book 2, A Gathering of Gargoyles.
The trilogy is a must read for any YA fantasy lovers.
