Writer Recharge :: Relapse Edition (Update 2)
Happy Monday! It's time for another Writer Recharge update!
BTW, it's not too late to join us - hop in anytime in February and link your blog post to my Monday posts. For details on how this works, click HERE.
How I did last week:
WRITE/REWRITE
I am in love with my new WiP, IF YOU WERE HERE. The characters and their stories are falling into place and I wrote about 10k last week, including lyrics to a song, which is not something I usually do.
READ/REREAD
THE DISTANT HOURS - still haven't started this. I'd better schedule that into my week. I reread THE DUFF last night, just in time to see the movie on Thursday night, AND I'm participating in the #RubyRedReread.
STRETCH
The dreaded pedicure appointment is this Friday at 3:30 pm. Is it weird that I want to give myself a home pedicure first to somehow lessen my level of embarrassment?
SELF
Hahahaha, no walks this week. We had something every night after school and over the weekend I wasn't feeling so hot. I've been dealing with a thyroid condition for several months and I've had a bit of a relapse. Exhaustion, muscle weakness, shakiness, irritability, that sort of thing. Saturday I was even too tired to read. Hopefully this week I'll bounce back.
CONNECT
Twitter writing parties - check! Good times.
FUN
I think I loved reading THE DUFF even more the second time. Tickets for Thursday night's showing have been purchased!
Hope you all had a great week!
Yay for being in love with your WIP!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better this week. And, who knows, maybe you'll end up actually liking pedicures and they'll be your new go-to thing for relaxing :)
I love that you want to give yourself a pre-pedicure. Like tidying up the house before the cleaning people come. :-) I'm so glad you're loving your WiP, and I'm crazy-impressed with your word count progress. Keep up that momentum, and have an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you haven't been well, Sara. Hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome about your new WiP! 10K words is pretty darn fantastic. It makes all the difference when you can say that you're totally in love with a story, doesn't it?
Hope you have a great week!
I hope you get the thyroid situation sorted out. That's awesome about the writing though.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all the words! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your word count! And I hope you feel better this week, too. I haven't been able to get my thyroid problems under control since I was diagnosed, so I know how awful and inconvenient those swings can be. And I'm hearing great things about The DUFF. I hope you'll give us a review!
ReplyDeleteLoving your WIP is the BEST feeling! :) and I'm excited to see The Duff movie, too. I haven't read the book yet (I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!) and I've heard the movie looks a lot different, but they both seem equally fun!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to read this WIP! Hope you feel better very very soon <3
ReplyDeleteYay! SO glad you're in love with your story. Great feeling! And THE DUFF is one of the few books I've reread. I actually read it three times and loved it more and more with each read. Enjoy that movie!
ReplyDeleteHooray for loving your new WIP! Hopefully you feel better this week so you can get lots more done on it (and also because not feeling good is lame).
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the wordcount! I hope you start feeling better soon. I think doing your own pedicure before getting a professional one is like cleaning your house before the cleaning service comes (something I'm guilty of). :)
ReplyDeleteYou did great this week! Congrats on the word count.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I need to tell you about my one and only pedicure. After driving all night (from FL to VA) my sister-in-law whisked me off to get matching pedicures (for her wedding). I could barely walk a straight line and it wasn't until I was sitting at the nail salon that it dawned on me, I hadn't shaved my legs. Then I realized that not only had I not shaved them, they were covered in welts from a recent encounter with fire ants. Oh and my feet were all chapped and nasty from living in sandals all the time... The poor girl that was doing my pedicure may have smirked a few times... but she was very nice and after I succumbed to the fact that it was to late to do anything to make my feet more presentable I relaxed. My toes came out very cute and it turned out to be just the sort of relaxation I needed.
So don't worry! I'm sure that they've seen every sort of foot imaginable and hopefully you will have fun :)
Ha ha, I've never gotten a pedicure because 1) I have creepy toes and don't want to draw attention to them and 2) I don't like the idea of a stranger Doing Things to them. Although probably it'd be worse if I knew the person.
ReplyDeleteIn any event, good luck!
Wow, Sara, what a great word count last week! So exciting that it's all falling into place and flowing so well. Good luck with your pedicure. I hope it's relaxing and not too stressful! :)
