Today is my last day of vacation. Sadly, I must return to reality and My Real Job tomorrow. It's been a wonderful, productive week. I read, I wrote, I worked on my social media presence. I spent time at home and away.
I'm very grateful that I had an opportunity to spend a couple of days in Cloud 9 country. Even though Cloud 9 was inspired by a classic-cartoon-themed campground/water park/resort in Wisconsin, my fictional Keenan's Cloud 9 is set in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota, very close to the area where my dad's family gathered for a week every summer when I was a kid. Last Tuesday morning I spent some time driving around Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, and Ideal Township. The area is not quite as rustic as it was in the old days, but there is much that has not changed.
