Six Down, Three to Go
Thursday's YA Read was The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler.
Thursday was a tough day -- we left the house at 6:15 am to make it to Children's for Birdy's surgery at 7:15. The morning at the hospital seemed to go so quickly and Birdy was a trooper. She charmed everyone with her wit and her cuteness. The surgery went well, we were home by noon, and I spent the rest of the day on the couch with her, trying to convince her that she should be RESTING.
I had a headache and stomach ache myself, so I rested quite a bit myself. And read.
This was a good choice for a day like yesterday. Even though there are some serious issues, it's funny and light-hearted in a lot of places. I'm looking forward to reading the new book she wrote with Jay Asher.
