YA Book-A-Day #2

Yesterday's YA read was Wonderland by Joanna Nadin.  I was drawn to the book for two reasons: one, it was available for download from the library, and two, the main character is named for the Beatles' Hey Jude

This book made me feel incredibly anxious.  From the very first page, I had a bad feeling.  It just couldn't end well.  The ending, however, was completely unexpected and the payoff was great.  I feel like I have to read it again, to see how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together and to inspect the author's narrative devices.

So good.  So well-written.  Read this book.

I haven't chosen today's read yet.  It will have to be a short one -- My morning was spent driving up north and tonight I have to attend Hammer Guy's welcome event/bbq.

  1. Would this book be appropriate for a 12-year-old (7th grade)? My daughter is a very strong reader and is mature for her age.
