My Last YA-Book-A-Day
I have to admit, I skipped Friday. I started reading something but didn't finish it until Saturday night, so I missed a day. No big whoop.
Saturday's book, then, was Fresh Off the Boat by Melissa de la Cruz. Loved the cultural perspective but overall wasn't too excited about the book.
Sunday, in honor of its 10th Anniversary of publication, I read Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty.
I stayed up until 1:15 to finish it. Now here's the problem with saving that particular book for last: I really, really, really want to read Second Helpings and Charmed Thirds. And WAIT! There are two more after that! Fourth Comings and Perfect Fifths! I had no idea. I'm captivated by the story and the characters and more than a little amused at the cultural references to the Y2K era.
Sadly, the Jessica Darling series must wait. I have many other books that require my attention at this time, including my own.
When I got home from my first day back at the office, Hammer Guy asked (somewhat sadly), "Are you still going to try to read a book a day now that your vacation is over?"
I wish.
