Today's Gratituesday Top Ten:

1. Annual Brainerd Lakes Writing Retreat - Happening Now!

Cragun's Resort on Gull Lake

2. A lazy, sunny Monday spent on the beach beta reading a fantastic, compelling contemporary YA.

The beach

3. This place:

Coco Moon Coffee Bar, Brainerd
4. Where I drank this:

Carbomb Latte - English Toffee & Irish Creme
5.  This place:

Cat Tales New & Used Books
where I met the owner and author Wendy Rosnau, who told me the amazing story of her journey as a writer: from nearly illiterate young mother who taught herself to read and who wanted to write stories to a published author of 14 romantic suspense novels.

Here's what I found there:

You know I love my Meg books!

Wendy was kind enough to give me a copy of one of her books and wished me well.

6.  And this place:

Emily's Used Books
 where I found this:

Go Meg! Solve that mystery!

7.  Exploring and finding this:

Green Gables Road
where I also found my future home:

8.  Time (and inspiration) to work on WAITING FOR THE SUN.

9.  My dear sister Mary, who is at our house with Toad and Birdy.

10. Coffee.  I may have already mentioned this, but I'm about to pour myself another cup.

What's on your list this week?

  4. Beautiful pics, and that coffee looks divine!

I've been thankful this week that I've had some free time during the work day to get some serious editing done. Score! I need to catch up on that.

    1. Thanks! It was rather tasty. And it had a clever name.

Don't you love weeks like that? I'm already dreading going back to work next week! Good luck with the editing!

  5. OMG - MEG! I haven't thought of those books in years! I absolutely loved Meg when I was a kid! Wow, that brings back memories. And also - it's 11:30 at night and now I'm craving coffee due to that delicious picture. :)

    1. I loved the Meg books so much. I would choose Meg over all the Trixie Beldens and Nancy Drews on the shelf. I really need to blog about them.

I see nothing wrong with having coffee at 11:30 pm. :)

  6. Wow! That looks exactly like the kind of place that I'd like to spend some time relaxing. :) I'm a teensy bit envious right now. :D

    1. Jaime, I'm practically weeping right now. We have to leave in two hours. I'm cramming in some quality writing time on the balcony before we go.

  7. The coffee bar and bookshops make me wish I wasn't at work right now! :-)

    1. I love finding places like that in my travels. The coffee bar was WAY too loud to write, though. Bummer.

    1. Thanks! At one point the pages blew away across the sand - it reminded me of the scene in Anne of Avonlea where Anne meets Morgan Harris. Have you seen those movies (Anne of Green Gables)?
