30-Day Song Challenge Day Ten: Insert Topic Here (instead of A Song That Makes You Fall Asleep)
I admit, I'm not crazy about the idea of a song that makes me fall asleep, so I'm going to make up my own topic: A Song That You Wish You Could Hear Again For the Very First Time.
There are a few songs that I wish I could hear again for the very first time, songs that grab me or tug at my heart or stir the soul. Songs that are a punch in the gut. Songs with amazing artistry or message or both.
One of those songs is a song I've mentioned before on this blog. I have writing playlists and I associate certain songs with each of my novels. A year ago when I was working on the first draft of RIVERS (not sure of the title at this point, so we'll just call it RIVERS and leave it at that), the song "Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise" by the Avett Brothers really struck me, especially one very important line:
Decide what to be and go be it.
The line and the melody haunt me.
What will it take for me to do that, to be true to myself and my passion? Head full of doubt, road full of promise.
Dear readers, decide what to be and go be it.
What's holding you back?
