Monday Motivation: Write Your Heart Out

It's been a while since I've done a Monday Motivation post.

Last week was crazybusy with the start of school, and this week promises to be even moreso, with Scouts and meetings and Hammer Guy out of town for a couple of days.

It's times like these that it's easy to de-prioritize things like reading and writing.  I had a great reading weekend (more on that in another post) but did very little writing.  I can't let that happen this week and so today I am re-committing to making time, making my writing a priority.

Frequent readers of the blog will know that I love photography and crave visual inspiration of places,  people, and things that spark my imagination.

Today's piece of visual inspiration:

I love this picture, taken by my friend Shawn over Labor Day weekend at Ross Lake.

This picture motivates me to sit down with WAITING FOR THE SUN and write my heart out.

What motivates you to write your heart out?

  1. What a gorgeous picture! And I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I really like the new(ish) blog look. It looks so clean, and really highlights the beautiful pics at the top. :)

    1. Thanks (again)! I've been slowly tweaking it and today added some new things to the sidebar. I think I'll stick with this for a while! :)

  3. Football(since it's all over my ms). That, and rereading sections of my story that I love. Makes me just want to write more!

Thanks for the Monday Motivation! I SO needed it!

    1. That sounds perfect - I used to go out and walk with headphones a lot, too. Maybe I should again! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Lovely reminder of the peaceful beauty of summer.
Now I simply need the luxury of time in order to write.

    1. It is lovely, isn't it? Good luck finding the writing time this fall!

  6. Wow! It looks like the whole sky is on fire! It feels apocalyptic. Nothing really motivates me to write except sheer force of will. I consider it my new career, and I have to just keep at it even if it's hard.

    1. Isn't it amazing? "Sheer force of will" doesn't quite paint the same picture. :)

  7. Kissing. I'm kidding (but only a little). That's a lovely picture. Best motivation for me right now is a MNYAwriters deadline.

  8. What a wonderful photograph! It reminds me of home. :-)

At the moment, I'm in the middle of a huge jolt of motivation. I've been writing non-stop for the last two weeks. When I made a Love List for my WIP, it re-ignited my inspiration in a big way. :-)
