Remember This

Today would have been my dad's 82nd birthday.

He was funny, kind, generous.
He could fix ANYTHING.
He had a map in his head and never got lost.
He enjoyed a crisp, refreshing beer occasionally.
He always had a stubby pencil with him -- you never know when you might need it.  My son has inherited this trait and has several of these in the bottom of his backpack.

He worked hard and enjoyed life.

I keep this photograph of me and my dad, enjoying Leinenkugels Honey Weiss together at my wedding, in my office.

Remember this.

Happy Birthday, Dad.  Miss you.

  1. Nice photo. I miss my dad too, Sept 9 would have been his 86th. They are gone, but the love between a father and daughter never dies.

  5. What a nice tribute. You both look so happy there. Virtual hugs coming your way today -- I know how hard some of those milestones can be.

    1. Thanks, Nickie - I love this picture because at this point in the day, with all the stressful stuff behind me, I was relaxed and enjoying the company of family and friends. So grateful that my dad was still with us to walk me down the aisle that day.

  6. What a wonderful photo and beautiful memory. Somewhere he's enjoying a beer and raising it to you. Until you get to share another one together, keep remembering these moments. Hugs to you, Sara.
