RTW: Best Book of September
Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's
contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question to write
about on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination
and get everybody's unique take on the topic.
This week's topic: What was the best book you read in September?
source: goodreads |
I read some so-so books this month. I read some great books this month, and I read some absolutely fantastic, amazing, unbelievable books this month.
My two favorites in September were THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER and PUSHING THE LIMITS - and because it's a rich, emotional, compelling contemporary read, I chose PUSHING THE LIMITS as the Best Read of September.
From goodreads:
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.
I wish I had more time to write about all the things I loved about this book, but I should be writing (remember, I'm supposed to be in my writing cave).
What was YOUR best read of September? I promise I'll come back to check on your blogs soon!
Is it bad I haven't read any of these (except the DUFF)? Pushing the Limits is supposed to be AMAZING, Sara....it's all my bloggy friends talk about but yet I haven't picked it up yet. Must to my to-read list :-)

Oh, your choice sounds so good! I'll have to add it to my list. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer has been on my list for while if only because I LOVE the cover. Are you planning to write a review on it?
ReplyDeleteEek, I've been anxious to read both The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and Pushing the Limits!
ReplyDeleteI would like to read Pushing the Limits, and look forward to a more in-depth review from you. I understand the "writers cave" sentiment, I'm in mine right now and don't need to get distracted.
ReplyDeleteWow, Pushing the Limits sounds really interesting. I have a bit of a thing for stories about people falling from popularity. It's strange. haha great rec! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this one but I'll have to add it to my list. Looks like you read a lot of great books in September.
ReplyDeleteI've heard people rave about Pushing the Limits and then I read a really negative review so I've been hesitant about it ever since.
ReplyDeleteI have Pushing the Limits already on my Goodreads To Read list. So many books, so little time! I get what you mean about needing to limit yourself so you can write. I've had a little detour with some health issues so I feel like I have a lot to make up for. Anyway, I will definitely check out that book sooner rather than later. Good luck with your writing.
ReplyDeleteHere's my pick for September: http://www.agirlandherdiary.blogspot.com
I read The Duff a few months book and have Shut Out on the Kindle. As soon as I get through some of the horror on my list I'm reading it because I really enjoyed The Duff. :_)
ReplyDeletePushing the Limits is amazing!!! I havent read Unbecoming yet, but it's been on my list forever! lol

I keep hearing about PUSHING THE LIMITS and I'm dying to get my hands on it! Soon...
ReplyDeleteI've had Mara Dyer on my shelf since Christmas but I haven't gotten the chance to read it yet. I should probably bump that up on the list.
Glad you came out of your cave for a second :D I really enjoyed PUSHING THE LIMITS and I haven´t read Mara Dyer yet but it´s on my list :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read PUSHING THE LIMITS yet, but I think it's on my TBR list. Hope all is good in the writing cave! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to read everything in that collage except THE DUFF which I own and regularly re-read. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about Pushing the Limits! I really need to read it. It sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteLast night I finished Rachel Harris's My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century. It was fun. I loved the historical elements, and romance always makes a great subplot.
